Job Description

Summary:
As a dishwasher at Galliford's Restaurant & Tavern, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to maintain a smooth flow of dishwashing operations and contribute to the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant. The dishwasher reports to the Executive Chef.
Duties:
Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils. Inspect and ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards. Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas. Ensure that all items are organized efficiently for quick and easy access by kitchen staff. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed. Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Follow proper sanitation and hygiene procedures to prevent contamination. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals. Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain a harmonious and efficient working environment. Communicate effectively with chefs, cooks, and other team members to meet operational needs. Perform general cleaning tasks in the kitchen area, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning countertops, and disposing of trash. Maintain cleanliness in dishwashing and storage areas.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items. Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices. The job requires standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects. Work shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
