Job Description

The Culinary Team Member is directly responsible for providing full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the community Food and beverage Program; responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality, service, and cleanliness always. . This list includes primary duties that a person must be able to perform on the job, either unaided or with the assistance of a "reasonable accommodation". Always exemplify company standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization. Exhibit leadership and management standards with all kitchen and dining room staff. Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards at all times. Ensure company standards for a fully staffed, operational, and stocked dining room. Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Display knowledge in all areas of serving, preparation, and shift organization. Maintaining a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized kitchen (adhering to all sanitation/infection control state regulations) Interfacing with dining staff and residents to address resident requests, comments, and complaints with a positive, friendly attitude. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through washing machine. Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering. Set up or break down dishwashing area. Assemble/disassemble dish machine. Clean any spills to ensure kitchen floor remains dry. Conduct general cleaning or another task as directed. Exemplify at all times company standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization. Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards at all times. Exhibit standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Provide necessary assistance to the residents. Display knowledge in all areas of serving, preparation, and shift organization. Maintaining a safe, sanitary, clean and organized dining room and kitchen (adhering to all sanitation/infection control state regulations). Interfacing with dining staff and residents to address resident requests, comments, and complaints with a positive, friendly attitude. Assisting with inventory to ensure proper ordering of food and non-food supplies. Assisting with putting away food truck items. Qualifications Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience. Professional Experience Minimum of one year cooking experience in a restaurant setting (experience in a long term care facility preferred). Licenses, Certificates, Credentials and other Requirements Current food handlers training certification. ServSafe certification preferred. Skill Sets Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of preparation and line production communication to other kitchen, dining, and management staff. Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills. Menu presentation, food preparation, production, food delivery systems. Knowledge in all areas of local health department, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and other regulatory agencies. Position Requirements Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee will be required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, climb stairs or ladders, maintain balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The employee will lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Environmental Kitchen environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to hazardous, medical and uncommon office materials Schedule Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 3-8 pm
