The Athletics Performance Nutrition Department at Washington State University is seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team. As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our state-of-the-art kitchen facility. Your efforts will directly contribute to providing top-notch nutrition services to our student-athletes, ensuring they have the fuel they need to perform at their best.
Responsibilities:
Dishwashing and Sanitation:
Operate commercial-grade dishwashers to clean and sanitize all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, trays, and cooking equipment. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Kitchen Organization:
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including the proper storage of clean items and removal of waste and recyclables.
Support Nutrition Staff:
Collaborate with the nutrition staff in preparing the kitchen for meal services, ensuring all necessary items are available, and assisting in meal setup as needed.
Equipment Maintenance:
Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the appropriate supervisor to ensure prompt repair or replacement.
Hygiene Standards:
Adhere to personal hygiene guidelines, including wearing proper attire and maintaining a clean and professional appearance while on duty.
Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with other team members, including chefs, nutritionists, and kitchen staff, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring inventory levels of cleaning supplies and kitchenware, notifying the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished. Adherence to
University Policies:
Comply with all university policies and procedures, including those related to safety, hygiene, and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a kitchen or food service setting is advantageous, but not required. Ability to handle kitchen equipment and lift heavy items when necessary. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated reliability and punctuality. A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment.
Working Conditions:
The position operates in a commercial kitchen environment, where exposure to heat, steam, and noise is expected. The Dishwasher may be required to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. The work schedule will be part-time, and hours may vary based on the department's needs, including weekends and evenings.
