Full Job Description Description:
The Event Services Specialist supports the banquet and events team by preparing function rooms for meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events. This role involves setting up tables, chairs, staging, audiovisual equipment, and other event materials while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and excellent customer service. Essential Job Functions Set up and break down banquet rooms according to event orders and floor plans. Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, and décor as directed. Transport and set up audiovisual equipment and other event materials. Ensure banquet rooms are clean, organized, and ready before each event. Respond promptly to last-minute event changes and guest requests. Assist banquet servers during events by replenishing supplies and removing used equipment. Move furniture and equipment safely using proper lifting techniques. Maintain storage areas and keep banquet equipment clean and organized. Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies. Work closely with banquet managers and other departments to ensure successful events. Follow all Highlands policies and procedures Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Frequently lift, push, pull, and move heavy equipment and furniture. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Work indoors and outdoors in banquet facilities and event spaces. Knowledge of banquet room setup styles (classroom, theater, boardroom, banquet, U-shape). Basic understanding of audiovisual equipment. Customer service experience. Ability to work efficiently under time constraints. Attention to detail Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous banquet, hospitality, or event setup experience is an asset but not required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
