About the Role - Event Planning Manager (Part-Time Taskforce) The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sales bookings, to include multi-day incentive programs, executive retreats, conferences, meetings, holiday parties and other group and event business as assigned. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting/Event Planners and the hotel staff.
Responsibilities include:
administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage, Setup and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review, facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of luxury service and ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded. The Event Planning Manager is the on-site contact and is responsible for the smooth planning and subsequent execution of all conferences, incentive programs, meetings and other group and event business as assigned. The Event Planning Manager also hosts hotel tours and event tastings, maintains strong internal and external customer relationships, participates in and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and works as an engaged team member with the sales, event and hotel staff. The manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff. Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards. This is the Hyatt Touch. Wage Information The hourly rate for this position is $33.00 - $53.00 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that Park Hyatt Aviara reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education. Qualifications A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills A minimum of 2-4 years of hotel luxury event planning or comparable experience preferred Must be proficient in general computer knowledge Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, adaptable to change, organized and able to handle luxury event planning a fast-paced environment Prefer event planning, selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training Preferred candidate is a certified Together by Hyatt Specialist or has similar knowledge All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran.
