Position Overview House of Lavonne is seeking an experienced Day-of Wedding Assistant to join our team on a contract, per-wedding basis. This role is ideal for someone with professional wedding or event experience who enjoys being hands-on and working as part of a team. The Wedding Assistant will work directly with a House of Lavonne Event Planner or Lead Coordinator to help execute wedding-day logistics and ensure the event runs smoothly. This is a support role. The Wedding Assistant will receive direction from the Event Planner or Lead Coordinator and assist with vendor coordination, ceremony and reception logistics, setup, breakdown, guest support, and other wedding-day needs.

Primarily evenings and weekends Weddings take place throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia, including Northern Virginia . Applicants must be comfortable traveling throughout the DMV area. Key Responsibilities Review the wedding-day timeline and important event details prior to the wedding Work under the direction of the Event Planner or Lead Coordinator Assist with vendor arrivals, load-in, and setup Help set up ceremony and reception items, including signage, programs, place cards, guest books, favors, and other personal décor Assist with venue setup and breakdown as needed Help organize and line up the wedding party for the ceremony Assist with ceremony processional and recessional cues Help communicate cues to the DJ and other vendors throughout the event Support reception activities, including grand entrances, special dances, speeches, cake cutting, and other scheduled moments Assist with moving or organizing wedding items throughout the event Help direct guests and answer basic questions Communicate important updates to the Event Planner or Lead Coordinator Assist with gathering and organizing client belongings at the end of the night Help with breakdown and cleanup of House of Lavonne and client items Provide warm, attentive, and professional customer service to couples, wedding parties, guests, and vendors Remain flexible and ready to assist with other wedding-day needs as assigned Maintain a polished and professional presence that reflects the House of Lavonne brand Required Experience & Qualifications 2-3 years of professional wedding, event planning, or event coordination experience Experience working weddings or live events Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a team Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments Ability to remain calm and flexible when plans change Reliable transportation is required Ability and willingness to travel throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia, including Northern Virginia Ability to stand, walk, and assist with event setup and breakdown for extended periods Weekend and evening availability Social media or wedding content creation experience is a plus. Candidates who are comfortable capturing high-quality behind-the-scenes photos and short-form video content during weddings are encouraged to include that experience when applying. Ideal Candidate The ideal Wedding Assistant is dependable, proactive, professional, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed. You understand that weddings are fast-paced and that even small details matter. You are comfortable taking direction, communicating with vendors and guests, helping with physical setup and breakdown, and supporting the Lead Coordinator or Event Planner throughout the day. You are someone who notices what needs to be done and is ready to help while maintaining a calm, friendly, and polished presence.
