Job Description

All About Audubon Tucked between the turquoise gulf and 5 miles from the white sand beaches in North Naples, FL, Audubon Country Club provides the appealing vibes of the Paradise Coast. With just over 750 acres of land from golf, tennis and pickleball, to bocce and croquet, Audubon has everything to offer. The golf course, designed in 1989 by Joe Lee, is an 18-hole facility with a cap of 340 golfing members, a waitlist, and 29,000 rounds annually, including an active tournament schedule filled with fun and competitive events. In January of 2028, the Club will complete its $26M two-year clubhouse renovation and celebrate its 40th anniversary. The Opportunity Audubon Country Club is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly organized Director of Catering & Events to lead the planning and execution of private events, member functions, banquets, and special experiences across the Club. Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager, this position serves as the primary relationship manager for members and hosts throughout the event journey
  • from initial inquiry and concept development through final execution and follow-up.
The Director will bring structure, creativity, and warm hospitality to a high-touch private-club environment. The role works closely with Culinary, Food & Beverage, Golf, Racquets, Membership, Facilities, and Club leadership to ensure every event is thoughtfully planned, clearly communicated, financially responsible, and executed to Audubon standards. This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Audubon while the Club advances a major clubhouse renovation and continues building a culture centered on exceptional service, accountability, connection, and memorable member experiences. Catering & Event Leadership Own the full event lifecycle for member events, private parties, member sponsored weddings, business functions, holiday celebrations, and Club signature events. Serve as the lead point of contact for hosts, creating a confident and personalized planning experience from inquiry through post-event follow-up. Translate member vision into detailed event plans, timelines, room diagrams, menus, service expectations, and contingency plans. Planning, Communication & Execution Create accurate BEOs and lead weekly event meetings to align Culinary, Service, Facilities, Golf, Racquets, Membership, and other departments. Coordinate setup, staffing, rentals, entertainment, vendors, transportation, decor, audiovisual needs, and all other event logistics. Maintain a visible presence during key events and resolve issues quickly, calmly, and professionally. Team Leadership & Service Standards Lead, coach, schedule, and develop the catering and banquet team with clear expectations, consistent follow-through, and strong service standards. Build repeatable processes that allow the team to execute consistently while still delivering personalized member service. Promote a culture that is collaborative, accountable, organized, positive, and focused on continuous improvement. Financial & Administrative Management Manage event pricing, contracts, deposits, billing accuracy, labor planning, rentals, and event-level profitability. Support budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy, and monthly performance review within Audubon's approximately $2.4M Food & Beverage operation. Identify opportunities to grow banquet and event revenue while protecting the member experience and Club standards. Qualifications & Schedule Five or more years of progressive catering, events, banquet, private-club, luxury-hotel, or comparable hospitality experience; leadership experience strongly preferred. Exceptional organization, communication, attention to detail, discretion, and ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the Club event calendar. Your Role at Audubon Member Experience Become a trusted planning partner for members and hosts. Listen carefully, anticipate needs, communicate proactively, and create events that feel personal rather than transactional. Team Leadership Build a confident catering and banquet team through clear standards, thoughtful scheduling, pre-shift communication, coaching, recognition, and accountability. Operational Excellence Bring discipline to BEOs, timelines, labor, billing, vendor coordination, setup, and cross-department communication so the details are handled before they become issues. The Opportunity Ahead The Director of Events & Catering will join Audubon at an important moment: a strong operating foundation, a highly engaged membership, and a major clubhouse transformation underway. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape event systems, service standards, and traditions that will carry into the Club's next chapter. Team Culture Our mission as a team is to enhance the lifestyle of each member by turning everyday experiences into memories.
