Job Description

The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is a nonprofit automotive museum that has been serving the Greater Boston area for more than 70 years. In addition to our historic collection, the Museum hosts a busy season of car shows, driving events, and special programs for the automotive community. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as Temporary Event Staff through October 18, 2026 . This is a part-time, seasonal position primarily focused on assisting with the Museum's remaining fall events, along with occasional administrative and day-to-day operational tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with event setup, execution, and post-event breakdown Prepare event materials, signage, supplies, and other items as needed Assist with guest and participant check-in Help direct vehicles, attendees, and event traffic as needed Process transactions and handle cash accurately Assist with administrative work related to events, membership, and Museum operations when needed Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and participants Perform other event-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Accurate cash handling and reconciliation skills Familiarity with computer systems and Square Register preferred Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills Comfortable interacting with people of all ages Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a small, fast-paced team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt during busy events Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask Ability to lift and move event equipment and other moderately heavy objects Ability to remain attentive and vigilant in a busy outdoor event environment Must have a flexible schedule and be available on weekends Must have reliable transportation Punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential Experience with public address systems or making announcements is a plus
