Assistant Private Events Manager

Job Description

Private Events Assistant Manager Teresa's Hospitality Group is seeking an organized, professional, and hands-on Private Events Assistant Manager to help execute weddings, showers, birthday parties, corporate functions, mercy meals, and other private events. This position will work closely with the Private Events Manager, restaurant management, kitchen team, and service staff to ensure every event is properly set up, professionally managed, and successfully completed. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who pays close attention to detail and remains calm in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities Review banquet event orders and event details before each function Assist with planning the staffing, setup, timing, and service flow for events Ensure event spaces are set according to the approved floor plan and event order Confirm that tables, linens, place settings, décor, signage, and equipment are properly arranged Conduct pre-shift meetings and clearly communicate event details to the service team Assign duties and supervise servers, bartenders, bussers, food runners, and setup staff Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure food is prepared, presented, and served on schedule Serve as a point of contact for the host during the event Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction throughout each function Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests or unexpected changes Ensure bar service and alcohol policies are followed Oversee event breakdown, cleanup, and resetting of the space Verify that all event charges, additions, and changes are accurately communicated to management Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the event space Assist with inventory and organization of linens, décor, banquet supplies, and event equipment Support the Private Events Manager with administrative or planning responsibilities when needed Complete other duties assigned by management Qualifications Previous restaurant, banquet, catering, or private-event experience required Prior supervisory or management experience preferred Strong leadership and team-management skills Excellent communication and guest-service abilities Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to read and follow banquet event orders and floor plans Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Able to remain professional and composed when handling last-minute changes Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule TIPS or alcohol-service certification preferred Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of each event and understands that the smallest details can make the biggest difference. The Private Events Assistant Manager should be visible, proactive, and willing to work alongside the team to deliver an organized and memorable experience for every guest. Schedule This position requires flexible availability. Hours will vary depending on the private-event schedule and will regularly include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
