On-Call Event Facilitator EcoTarium - 3.8 Worcester, MA Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Technical Proficiency Full Job Description The EcoTarium Museum of Science & Nature seeks dependable, organized, reliable, and responsible On-Call Events Facilitators to support the successful execution of events across the museum's campus. Events may take place in a variety of locations, including all three floors, the digital Planetarium, and outdoor spaces on our 55-acre site, as well as at select off-site venues. This position helps ensure events run smoothly, facilities are used safely, and guests have a positive, memorable experience.
Essential Functions:
Operating lighting, microphones, and audiovisual systems such as the Planetarium system (training provided). Assist with set-up, operations, and breakdown of events and programs. Provide excellent customer service to event attendees, clients, and partners Support other museum functions during special events, such as admissions, crowd control, or directional assistance. Prepare, organize, and maintain museum spaces, equipment, and program/event materials before, during, and after programs/events. Communicate promptly with the Senior Manager of Philanthropic Engagement regarding issues, incidents, or schedule changes. Follow all safety and emergency procedures and assist in maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.Non-Essential Functions:
Participate actively in all-staff community meetings, daily huddles (virtual and in person), and staff training when applicable. Contribute to a professional and collaborative work environment by promoting teamwork and offering encouragement and recognition when a job is well done. Other duties as needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, must be 18 years of age or older. Prior experience in event operations, customer service, or hospitality preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with a wide range of people. Demonstrated ability to create a fun, welcoming, environment for both children and adults. Demonstrated success working both independently and or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Dependable and able to respond on short notice to scheduling requests. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, and must be available to work scheduled evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Willingness to learn and grow through constructive feedback. General availability of at least two shifts per month plus initial training. Ability to navigate the building and grounds under any weather conditions, lift and transport up to 25 lbs., and work in a highly sensory, stimulating environment due to constant interaction with guests and planetarium presentations. Pass CORI, SORI and background check in accordance with EcoTarium guidelines Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, G-Chat) Comfort with technology and ability to learn new technologies and systems.Pay:
