Changeover Crew
Job Description
The Part-Time Changeover Crew Member supports the setup, changeover, and breakdown of events at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. This position performs physical event setup and operational support based on event requirements and facility needs. Changeover Crew Members work a flexible schedule based on the venue's event calendar, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with event setup, changeovers, and breakdowns throughout the facility. Set, move, and remove tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, barricades, and other event equipment. Arrange meeting rooms, exhibit areas, ballrooms, and other event spaces according to established event specifications. Load, unload, transport, and properly store event equipment and materials. Assist with resetting event spaces between scheduled functions. Maintain event equipment and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Follow instructions and work assignments provided by Operations Supervisors and venue management. Follow all facility safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other concerns. Work cooperatively with other venue departments and team members to support event operations. Perform other operational duties as assigned based on event and facility needs. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced event environment. Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time. Previous experience with event setup, warehouse operations, material handling, hospitality, or similar work is preferred but not required. Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on event needs, including nights, weekends, early mornings, overnight shifts, and holidays. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the scheduled shift. Team members must be able to safely lift and move event equipment and materials and perform physical work for extended periods. Work Environment Work is performed throughout the convention center, including exhibit halls, meeting rooms, ballrooms, loading areas, docks, storage areas, and other operational spaces. Work schedules and hours will vary based on the event calendar and operational needs.
