Remote with Local Event and Meeting Attendance Required Help Create Life-Changing Connections Through Exceptional Fundraising Events Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County is seeking an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused professional to serve as our Signature Events Coordinator . This flexible, part-time role is ideal for someone with experience planning events, engaging volunteers, and coordinating fundraising activities for nonprofit organizations. Working primarily from home, this individual will lead the planning and execution of our two signature fundraising events each year while collaborating closely with staff, board members, volunteers, sponsors, and event committees. About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Funds raised through our special events directly support local mentoring programs that help young people reach their full potential. Position Overview The Signature Events Coordinator will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the organization's two major annual fundraising events: Derby Dinner & Auction Held each April, planning begins in December.
Responsibilities include:
Partnering with volunteer committee members and event co-chairs Coordinating committee meetings (virtual and in-person) Securing and managing event venue, entertainment, and vendors Assisting with sponsorship recruitment and fulfillment Coordinating silent auction and raffle basket donations which includes soliciting companies who have donated previously as well as new ones, picking up donations, assembling baskets, preparing signate and prep work for posting items on the auction website Supporting event marketing and promotion efforts Engaging board members and volunteers in event activities Coordinating event logistics, decorations, and staffing Overseeing event-day execution Committee meetings typically begin monthly, increase to twice monthly, and become weekly during the month leading up to the event. Evening meeting attendance is required. Bowl for Kids' Sake Held annually in October.
Responsibilities include:
Working with a volunteer planning committee Recruiting and supporting team captains Coordinating peer-to-peer fundraising efforts Organizing event-day logistics Managing participant communications Coordinating event vendors and activities, including: T-shirts Food and beverages DJ/entertainment Awards and prizes Recruiting and coordinating volunteers Supporting sponsorship and fundraising efforts Primary Responsibilities Plan and execute fundraising events from concept through completion Build strong relationships with volunteers, committee members, sponsors, vendors, and board members Develop event timelines and ensure deadlines are met Coordinate meetings, agendas, and follow-up activities Track sponsorship commitments and event donations Assist with event marketing and community engagement efforts Identify opportunities to improve attendee experience and event revenue Provide post-event evaluations and recommendations Qualifications Required Experience planning and coordinating events Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms Reliable transportation for attendance at local meetings and events Preferred Nonprofit event or fundraising experience Experience working with volunteers, boards, and committees Sponsorship development or donor relations experience Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns Ideal Candidate You are: Outgoing and enthusiastic Highly organized and detail-oriented A self-starter who takes initiative Comfortable leading volunteer groups and meetings Professional and dependable Passionate about community impact Skilled at building relationships and motivating others Schedule & Compensation Part-time, contract position Flexible work schedule Majority of work performed remotely Evening availability required for committee meetings and events Increased hours during the months leading up to major events Compensation commensurate with experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 15.0 per week
