Weekdays - 40 hours per week
Position Summary :
We are a faith-based family shelter. The Advancement Support staff member provides administrative, organizational, and project support across all functions of the Advancement Department. This position assists with donor relations, communications, events, and advancement operations by coordinating logistics, maintaining records, preparing materials, and supporting departmental projects and activities. The Advancement Support staff member serves as a key team member who helps ensure the efficient execution of advancement initiatives and provides support where needed throughout the department. Essential Skills

  • Provide administrative support to Advancement Department staff.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and departmental calendars.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other documents.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files and records.
  • Assist with departmental purchasing, invoices, and routine administrative tasks. Donor Relations Support
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities, correspondence, and acknowledgment processes.
  • Support donor events, tours, meetings, and engagement opportunities.
  • Prepare donor packets, mailing materials, and stewardship resources.
  • Assist with maintaining donor records and supporting donor communication efforts. Communications & Marketing Support
  • Assist with content collection, proofreading, and preparation of communication materials.
  • Support website, newsletter, and social media initiatives as requested.
  • Help coordinate photography, stories, and ministry impact content.
  • Assist with distribution of communication materials and campaigns.
Event Support Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising events, donor gatherings, and community engagement activities. Coordinate registrations, attendee communications, event materials, and logistics. Support event setup, execution, and follow-up activities. Maintain event records and assist with post-event reporting. Departmental Support
  • Provide project coordination and administrative assistance across all advancement functions.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Serve as a collaborative resource to department staff and help ensure timely completion of departmental priorities.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding donor, financial, and organizational information.
  • Coordinate and support the monthly Tours & Talks event, including lunch setup and cleanup, preparation of materials, guest hospitality, and event logistics to ensure a positive and informative experience for attendees. Qualifications Required
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers, staff, and community members.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and Christian ministry of Open House Ministries. Preferred
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience supporting events, donor relations, communications, or fundraising activities.
  • Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems.
  • Experience coordinating schedules, meetings, and project logistics. Core Competencies
