General Manager Position Summary:

Gulf Shrimp Company is seeking a motivated, reliable, and adaptable Seafood Market Retail Associate to join our team. This role is essential to the daily operations of our retail seafood market. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including customer service, seafood handling and processing, food preparation, packaging, online order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean and organized market environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with responsibilities that shift daily.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

Greet and assist customers with product selection and purchases. Provide knowledgeable and friendly service, including seafood recommendations and cooking tips. Operate the cash register, handle payments, and maintain accurate sales records

Seafood Handling & Processing:

Receive, inspect, and process fresh seafood according to safety and quality standards. Clean, fillet, portion, and prepare seafood for display and sale. Monitor product freshness and rotate inventory to ensure quality.

Prepared Foods & Cooking:

Assist with the preparation and cooking of ready-to-eat seafood items. Follow recipes and company procedures to ensure consistency and food safety. Package cooked and prepared foods for retail and delivery.

Order Fulfillment:

Manage in-store, phone, and online orders accurately and efficiently. Coordinate packaging and timely delivery or pickup of orders.

General Store Operations:

Restock displays and maintain attractive, sanitary product presentation. Clean work areas, equipment, and store surfaces throughout the day. Follow food safety and cleanliness protocols at all times.

Adaptability & Teamwork:

Take on various other tasks as needed—duties change frequently based on inventory, customer needs, and seasonal demands. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in retail, food service, seafood, or grocery preferred Ability to handle seafood products (including shellfish) and work in a cold, wet environment. Basic cooking or food prep skills a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
