Job Summary Join our dynamic culinary team as a Salad / Prep Cook, where your energy and culinary skills will shine! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh salads, assembling ingredients, salad bar, and supporting overall kitchen operations to deliver delicious, high-quality meals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment committed to food safety and excellence. We are looking for open availability, evenings and weekends are required. Duties Prepare fresh salads and cold dishes according to established recipes and standards Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including food processors, mixers, and refrigeration units Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to meet food safety standards Support menu planning by preparing ingredients for daily specials or catering orders Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety and quality in all meal preparations Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and accurate order assembly Assist with general cleaning duties in the dietary department to uphold hygiene standards Skills Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety management Knowledge of menu planning and recipe adherence for consistent quality Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively Familiarity with food industry standards related to food handling, safety standards in production, and sanitation practices Previous restaurant or catering experience is a plus Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and team members Demonstrated understanding of safety standards in food production environments Passion for meal preparation, serving, and delivering exceptional food experiences This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant team dedicated to excellence.
