Job Description

QSI Sanitation Team Member Position Summary The Sanitation Team Member is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food production equipment, processing areas, and facility surfaces to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining food safety, quality standards, and compliance with USDA and company requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, floors, walls, drains, and other facility areas. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment according to established sanitation procedures. Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and company policies and procedures. Properly use and handle cleaning chemicals, tools, and sanitation equipment. Follow chemical handling and safety procedures, including proper labeling and PPE requirements. Identify and report sanitation, safety, equipment, or maintenance concerns to management. Complete sanitation tasks according to established schedules and production requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required and trained. Assist with maintaining the facility in audit-ready condition. Follow USDA and customer food safety requirements. Work safely around wet floors, chemicals, machinery, and industrial cleaning equipment. Work effectively as part of a team while meeting sanitation deadlines and quality expectations. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Manager or management team. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old. Previous sanitation, janitorial, food production, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Food/protein industry experience is a plus. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as required. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and sanitation equipment. Ability to work in wet, cold, and industrial environments. Ability to wear required PPE for the duration of the shift. Ability to safely work around cleaning chemicals and production equipment. Safety & Compliance Team Members are expected to follow all QSI safety policies and procedures, including applicable GMP, Food Safety, USDA, HAZCOM, LOTO, PPE, and sanitation requirements. Employees must immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, chemical spills, equipment concerns, or food safety issues to management. Schedule Full-time positions are available. Night-shift availability is required for many sanitation assignments, and schedules may include weekends or overtime based on customer production needs.
