Food Service AssociateToledo Zoo & Aquarium The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Food Services team is in search of people who are passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. Under direct supervision from full-time staff, this position is responsible for preparation of food, proper customer service, adheres to proper cash handling procedures, and maintains cleanliness and safety of food service areas. Reports to the Lead and Supervisor of Food Services This position is non-exempt part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The ideal candidate is a versatile team player with a strong work ethic and a customer-focused attitude. This role involves assisting the Food Services Department in various capacities, including operating cash registers, taking orders, responsibility serving alcohol, and stocking supplies. Additional duties include food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness in concession areas to uphold health and safety standards. The candidate must be adaptable, ready to work across multiple food service areas catering, concessions, and restaurants while also supporting other departments as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to operate various kitchen and service equipment are essential.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
Must be 16+ years of age.

Prefer experience in food service or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Candidates must be able to take direction, work independently and multi-task.

Strong customer service and communication skills are a plus. Work schedules include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be outdoors for several hours at a time.
