WHAT YOU'LL DO A

typical daytime shift (7:30am-3:30pm) moves. You'll open the breakfast room, prep food and bake pastries, interact with guests throughout the morning, inspect rooms before check-in, handle reservations and guest messages, cover lounge food orders on bartender's days off and during opening hours before 1pm, and keep the common areas clean and welcoming. The job is physical, varied, and social — all day, most of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome and engage guests from arrival through departure Prepare and serve breakfast each morning Bake pastries and baked goods for breakfast, afternoon tea, and the lounge; assist with tea service when scheduled Cover lounge food orders (snacks, boards, light bites) during opening hours and on days when the bartender is not scheduled Inspect guest rooms before check-in and after housekeeping Manage reservations and communicate with guests by phone, text, and email — including outbound calls to guests who haven't stayed with us before Coordinate with the housekeeping and maintenance teams on room readiness and upkeep Keep the breakfast room, front desk, and lounge clean and welcoming throughout your shift

WHO YOU ARE

You don't need a hospitality degree or a hotel background. Most of our best hires didn't come from the industry — they came with warmth, good instincts, and the ability to take care of things without being told twice. You make people feel at home, naturally You're comfortable working on your feet all day Once you know the rhythm, you're comfortable taking the lead on a quieter morning You notice the thing that's slightly off before anyone else does You know (or want to know) the area well enough to give real recommendations You can commit to early mornings, most weekends, and some holidays

REQUIREMENTS

Available for daytime shifts including most weekends and some holidays Reliable transportation to Greenwich, CT Comfortable standing, moving, and lifting up to 50 lbs throughout a shift Able to climb stairs — historic property, no elevator This is a non-smoking property Customer-facing or service experience preferred; hospitality background not required
