Full Job Description Overview Host:

The Moon Under Water is seeking friendly, organized Hosts to join our opening team in Gulfport. As the first point of contact for many of our guests, Hosts will play an important role in setting the tone for the experience from the moment someone walks through the door. This position is ideal for someone who communicates well, stays composed during busy services, and enjoys helping guests feel welcome while keeping the flow of the restaurant organized. As a Host, You Will Greet guests warmly and help create a welcoming first impression Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table assignments Coordinate seating with servers, managers, and support staff to maintain an efficient service flow Provide accurate wait times and keep guests informed during busy periods Answer basic questions about the menu, pub, events, and guest experience Answer and direct phone calls as needed Maintain an organized and presentable host stand and entry area Assist with takeout orders, guest requests, merchandise sales, and other front-of-house needs when required Communicate clearly with the management and service teams throughout each shift Help monitor dining room flow and alert managers to guest concerns or service needs Support opening, closing, and side work responsibilities Follow all health, sanitation, safety, and workplace standards Requirements Previous host, restaurant, retail, or guest service experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of guests Ability to stay organized and composed in a busy, high-volume environment Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once Comfortable using reservation and restaurant technology Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during service Compensation Competitive hourly pay Paid training Employee discount EOE - We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
