Job Description
Host/Hostess welcomes and warmly greets guests on arrival, addressing them by name whenever possible. Presents menu and coordinates the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes and guest flow in service stations. Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the restaurant. Graciously greets all guests upon arrival When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in the party. Provides guest with approximate waiting time. Follows through until guests are seated. Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible. Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name. Inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness. Arrange guest seats in rotation among servers in order to ensure that the staff is given an equal number of tables. Update the floor chart regularly throughout the shift. Inquire with team members on anyfeatures for the day/shift. Clean menus as required throughout the shift. Relay messages to servers as needed. Notify the lead or manager on any changes. Work well with others and consistently fosters a team environment philosophy. Attends all scheduled meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Responsible for keeping your uniform neat (wrinkle-free) and clean at all times. A smile is part of your uniform. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to work various shifts per week Reliable transportation 16+ Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required. Mobility required during the entire shift. Transports and carries objects (such as high-chair) up to 15 pounds up to 15 times a shift. Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion Introducing guests to their server Managing restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectations Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
