Job Description

We are searching for a host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills—someone who is a real people person. You possess a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy working with others in a fast-paced team environment. You should enjoy welcoming guests to our establishment and guiding them to an appropriate table, ensuring that it is cleared, and clean. Make sure there are enough seats for everyone. You'll need a friendly, courteous manner to answer phone calls and make accurate reservations for guests. Compensation:
18 hourly
Responsibilities:
Make sure dining room tables and chairs are neatly organized at all times and that condiments on the table are restocked if low Assist with clearing plates off tables and getting tables ready for the next guests Handle booking of reservations, be quick to solve seating problems, and troubleshoot any phone inquiries from customers Direct customers to their seats, ensuring tables are set properly with enough tableware for each diner, water glasses are filled, and menus are sanitized Know the menu items and how dishes are prepared and be able to answer any questions about daily specials
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the food and beverage industry and/or hospitality industry is appreciated but not a requirement Must be able to handle a fast-paced atmosphere with periods of standing on feet for an extended length of time Skills needed for this role include excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a good command of the English language About Company The Brae Loch Inn is a Cazenovia institution, serving guests since 1946. The restaurant had been family-owned for all 79 years and continues to honor its Scottish roots.
