Italian Kitchen is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and dependable Host / Hostess to join the restaurant team. The ideal candidate will greet guests warmly, manage seating and wait lists, assist with reservations, and help create a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment guests arrive. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service. Greet guests promptly and create a positive first impression. Manage reservations, wait lists, and guest seating efficiently. Escort guests to tables and provide menus as needed. Monitor dining room flow and communicate table availability with service staff. Answer guest questions about the menu, restaurant, seating, and available options. Coordinate with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to maintain efficient service. Assist with phone calls, reservations, and general guest inquiries. Maintain an accurate wait list and provide guests with reasonable wait-time information. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area. Assist with menus, table organization, and other front-of-house duties. Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner. Support the restaurant team during busy meal periods. Assist with opening, closing, and daily host-stand procedures. Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management. Requirements Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain organized in a busy restaurant environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a welcoming attitude. Basic computer, reservation, or POS experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and seating accuracy. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and busy service periods. Preferred Skills Previous full-service restaurant or Italian restaurant experience. Experience with reservations and wait-list systems. Excellent guest-service and interpersonal skills. Strong organization and time-management abilities. Ability to communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff. Ability to multitask during high-volume service.
