Hotel Front Desk Agent Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott - Old Town Scottsdale, AZ Job Summary Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Old Town Scottsdale is seeking a dependable, professional, and guest-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing excellent customer service throughout the guest experience, including check-in, check-out, reservations, guest requests, and resolving concerns. We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, friendly, professional, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. Dependable attendance is essential for this position. Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner Perform guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently Process reservations, cancellations, room changes, and other guest requests Answer incoming telephone calls and provide accurate hotel information Assist guests with questions, requests, and concerns throughout their stay Resolve guest complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary Process payments, credit card authorizations, deposits, and other transactions accurately Maintain accurate guest accounts and folios Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and management Monitor room status and communicate room needs with the housekeeping department Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area Follow all hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and Marriott brand standards Protect guest privacy and confidential hotel information Complete assigned front desk duties and shift responsibilities before leaving Assist with additional hotel duties as assigned by management Requirements Minimum of 1 year of recent hotel front desk experience at an upper-level hotel is required Applicants without the required hotel front desk experience will not be considered Previous Marriott hotel experience is strongly preferred Excellent customer service and communication skills Must have reliable transportation to and from work Must be dependable and consistently arrive to work on time Must maintain reliable and regular attendance Must report for all scheduled shifts unless properly excused according to hotel policy Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required Must be flexible with scheduling based on hotel occupancy and business needs Must be comfortable working independently during assigned shifts Must be able to communicate professionally with guests, coworkers, and management Must be able to handle guest concerns calmly and professionally Must have strong computer skills and be comfortable learning hotel property-management systems Must be able to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Must be able to stand for extended periods during the shift Must be authorized to work in the United States Employment is subject to the hotel's standard background-check requirements Attendance & Scheduling Expectations Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position. Front Desk Agents are expected to arrive on time and ready to work for every scheduled shift. Because the hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, availability for weekends and holidays is required. Two-Week Introductory Period All new Front Desk Agents will complete an initial two-week introductory period. During this time, management will evaluate attendance, punctuality, job performance, guest service, ability to learn front desk procedures, and overall suitability for the position. If either the employee or management determines during this period that the position is not a good fit, employment may be ended in accordance with applicable company policies and law. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Reliable transportation, dependable attendance, and a minimum of one year of hotel front desk experience at an upper-level hotel are required for this position.
