Job Summary The PM Front Desk Associate is the first impression of KG Motel. This position is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest through genuine hospitality, personalized service, and attention to detail. We have one full time and one part time position available for a schedule of 4:00pm-12:00am. This position will include alcohol sales and all front desk workers must be willing and able to obtain their ABC servers and sales permit in the event our guests would like to purchase alcohol. You'll do much more than check guests in and out—you'll serve as a local guide, problem solver, and ambassador for the KG Motel experience. Guest Experience Welcome every guest with a friendly, genuine, and professional attitude. Complete guest arrivals and departures accurately and efficiently. Assist guests with reservations, room assignments, billing questions, and special requests. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Anticipate guest needs and look for opportunities to exceed expectations. Recognize returning guests and celebrate special occasions whenever possible. Create memorable moments through thoughtful hospitality and personalized service. ──────── ✦ ✷ ✦ ──────── Local Hospitality Become a knowledgeable ambassador for Lexington and Rockbridge County. Provide personalized recommendations for local restaurants, breweries, wineries, coffee shops, outdoor recreation, shopping, Washington & Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, and community events. Promote Buddy Lou's mobile bar and other unique experiences available at KG Motel. Help guests discover the local community rather than simply providing directions. ──────── ✦ ✷ ✦ ──────── Front Office Operations Operate the Property Management System accurately and efficiently. Answer telephone calls professionally and respond to guest inquiries promptly. Process payments and maintain accurate credit card handling procedures. Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality of guest information at all times. Maintain accurate guest records and reservation information. Follow all KG Motel policies, procedures, and operational standards. Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences. Assisting with shop inventory management and restocking. Preparation of coffee service and weekend pastry display. ──────── ✦ ✷ ✦ ──────── Property Appearance Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk, lobby, and public spaces. Complete routine lobby and property inspections throughout each shift. Assist in maintaining the appearance of guest amenities and common areas. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and cleanliness issues immediately. Help ensure every guest arrives to a property that is clean, safe, and inviting. ──────── ✦ ✷ ✦ ──────── Teamwork Support fellow team members and assist other departments when business demands require. Participate in daily shift communication and team meetings. Help create a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace. Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with additional responsibilities as assigned. Uphold and model the KG Motel HEART Model in every interaction with guests and fellow team members. Protect guest information and maintain confidentiality. Report suspicious activity, accidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately. Help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. Requirements Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude and genuine passion for hospitality. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Comfortable using computers and learning hotel technology systems. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all times. Schedule Requirements Flexible availability is required based on the operational needs of KG Motel. Must be available to work AM and PM shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Additional hours may be required during periods of high occupancy or staffing shortages. ──────── ✦ ✷ ✦ ──────── Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs as needed. Work indoors and occasionally outdoors while assisting guests or completing property walks.
