Job Description
at Burke Mountain Resort/Bear Den Operations Co in East Burke, Vermont, United States Job Description This position is a combined position which will make more versatile the lodging department staff. Classically trained as Front Desk Agents, Lodging Agents will be assigned as either Reservation Agents or Front Desk agents according to the department's needs. The goal of a lodging agent is to assist a guest to provide them with everything possible to achieve comfort while away from home. A Lodging agent should have enthusiasm for customer service-oriented problem solving, and actively see to enhance each guest's experience.
Essential Duties:
Reservations:
- Answers incoming calls for lodging guest reservations, using up selling techniques to maximize revenue for each reservation taken.
- Understands all packages, promotions and rate types available during a given period and on property amenities to easily give guest's the information they need.
- Relay deposit and cancellation policies, as well as other fees associated with reservations, clearly to the guest at time of reservation.
Front Desk:
- Register guests upon arrival and check out guests upon departure, making them feel welcome while informing them of resort amenities
- Thoroughly understand and adheres to all proper credit card, check and cash handling procedures.
- Knows room locations, types of rooms and how to find room rates and information efficiently.
- Processes walk in and same day reservations and arrivals
- Perform cashier functions in both Bear Essentials, Campground software and StayNTouch Property Management System, In Touch Booking System (all key software programs are trainable, no prior experience needed).
- Reads all shift reports daily and communicates effectively with other hotel department staff.
- Knows all safety and emergency procedures.
