Job Description

Position Summary The Hotel Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while efficiently managing the daily operations of the hotel front desk. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and positive hotel experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Welcome and greet guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently. Process reservations, room assignments, payments, and guest accounts. Answer incoming calls and respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns. Provide information about hotel services, amenities, local attractions, dining, and transportation. Monitor and manage room availability and communicate with Housekeeping regarding room status. Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns professionally and work toward timely resolutions. Maintain accurate guest records and follow hotel policies and procedures. Assist with group arrivals, departures, and special guest requests as needed. Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other hotel departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area. Follow all cash-handling, credit card, security, and guest privacy procedures. Monitor hotel activity and report any maintenance, safety, or security concerns to management. Promote hotel amenities, services, and applicable upgrades or special offers. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management. Qualifications Previous hotel, hospitality, customer service, or front desk experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging situations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel management and reservation systems. Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies or items weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers in person and by telephone.
