About the job We're looking for a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to keep the Super 8 by Wyndham San Diego Hotel Circle safe, comfortable and running smoothly. You'll fix things quickly, get rooms back in service fast, and stay ahead of problems with preventive maintenance. If you like solving problems and take pride in your work, we'd like to meet you. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome. You must be available to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Responsibilities Repair and maintain guest rooms, public areas and outdoor spaces, including the parking lot and the building exterior. Troubleshoot and repair in-room heating and air conditioning units (PTACs), plumbing (toilets, faucets, drains, water heaters), lighting and minor electrical problems. Repair door locks, key card locks, furniture, TVs, blinds and fixtures. Patch and paint walls, caulk bathrooms, and do other touch-ups so rooms look their best. Fix out-of-order rooms quickly so they can be rented again. Follow the preventive maintenance schedule for rooms and equipment. Respond quickly to work orders and guest maintenance requests. Keep the maintenance shop, tools and parts organized, and tell your manager when supplies run low. Follow all safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions, incidents or broken equipment to your manager right away. Help guests in a friendly, professional way. Wear the proper uniform and keep a professional appearance. Help with other tasks as needed to support the team. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in hotel, apartment or building maintenance, or a similar role. Working knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC/PTAC units and general repairs. Able to find the cause of a problem and work on your own with little supervision. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade or vocational training is a plus. English or Spanish is fine. Speaking both is a plus. Physical requirements Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and reach for long periods. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Climb ladders and work at heights. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Safely use hand tools, power tools and maintenance chemicals.

Mantener organizados el taller, las herramientas y las refacciones, y avisar a su gerente cuando falten materiales. Seguir todas las normas de seguridad y reportar de inmediato a su gerente las condiciones inseguras, los incidentes o el equipo dañado. Ayudar a los huéspedes de manera amable y profesional. Usar el uniforme correcto y mantener una apariencia profesional. Apoyar en otras tareas según se necesite para ayudar al equipo. Requisitos Mínimo 2 años de experiencia en mantenimiento de hoteles, apartamentos o edificios, o en un puesto similar. Conocimientos prácticos de plomería, electricidad básica, unidades de aire acondicionado (HVAC/PTAC) y reparaciones generales. Capacidad para encontrar la causa de los problemas y trabajar por su cuenta con poca supervisión. Se prefiere diploma de preparatoria (high school) o equivalente. La capacitación técnica o vocacional es una ventaja. Puede hablar inglés o español. Hablar ambos es una ventaja. Requisitos físicos Estar de pie, caminar, agacharse, arrodillarse y estirarse durante largos periodos. Levantar y cargar hasta 50 libras. Subir escaleras de mano y trabajar en alturas. Trabajar al aire libre en cualquier clima. Usar de manera segura herramientas manuales, herramientas eléctricas y productos químicos de mantenimiento.
