This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Wagner Hospitality Management . The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc. The Hotel General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Boston, MA, responsible for overseeing all hotel operations and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing staff across departments, coordinating front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage functions, and maintaining strong customer service standards. The role involves monitoring budgets, analyzing financial performance, and implementing strategies to increase revenue and control costs. The General Manager will also handle guest issues, ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations, manage vendor relationships, and uphold brand and quality standards. This role requires visible leadership on the property, coaching team members, and fostering a positive, safety-conscious work environment.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong General Management and Business Management skills to oversee hotel operations and lead cross-functional teams effectively. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to maintain high guest satisfaction and handle guest concerns professionally. Candidates should possess solid Budgeting skills to manage operating expenses, forecast revenues, and support profitability goals. Candidates should possess familiarity with Food & Beverage operations to coordinate restaurant, bar, and catering services within the hotel. Additional beneficial qualifications include prior hotel or hospitality leadership experience, strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, and proficiency with hotel management systems and basic office software. A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, along with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
