Director of Housekeeping About the job Director of Housekeeping - The Eden, Santa Monica, CA Full-Time | Salaried Exempt | $100,000 - $105,000 per year The Eden is a 70-room independent boutique hotel in Santa Monica, inspired by the Streamline Moderne era and nestled within lush greenery just steps from the ocean. We prioritize sustainability, wellness, and impeccable service to create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and tranquil. We're looking for a hands-on Director of Housekeeping to own the department end to end: guest rooms, public areas, laundry and linen, and our third-party housekeeping partnership. You'll set the standard for cleanliness and presentation, manage the labor and expense budget, keep us compliant with Santa Monica and California hotel worker requirements, and build a strong, accountable team. What you'll do Lead daily housekeeping operations and inspections across the property Manage the contracted housekeeping vendor — staffing, quality, accountability, and invoice reconciliation Build and manage the department budget; forecast labor by occupancy Ensure compliance with the Santa Monica Hotel Worker Protection Ordinance and Cal/OSHA housekeeping standards Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping supervisors and associates Partner with Front Office and Engineering to deliver a seamless guest experience What you bring 4+ years of hotel housekeeping leadership, including 2+ years as Director of Housekeeping or Executive Housekeeper Boutique, lifestyle, or luxury hotel experience strongly preferred Experience managing outsourced or contracted housekeeping labor Budgeting and labor-forecasting skills Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred Flexibility to work weekends and holidays Benefits Performance-based bonus eligibility, health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off and holidays, wellness incentives and hotel discounts, professional development. 105000
