Job Description

As Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor , you will be responsible for supervising and inspecting the work of assigned room and/or public area attendants to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. How will you do this?   • Allocate work duties to housekeeping and laundry team members.
  • Perform routine inspections of all check out rooms and spot check all occupied rooms.
  • Routinely inspect service areas, store rooms and corridors.
  • Schedule, supervise, and assist with deep cleaning and any other projects
  • Supervise and train housekeeping and laundry team members to ensure their performance is to brand and company standards.
  • Manage supply stock and maintenance of equipment.
  • Fill in as a room attendant when staffing levels are low, cleaning guest rooms as assigned, including, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and removing linen and trash.
  • Fill in as a laundry attendant when staffing levels are low, performing all stages of laundering process.
  • Ensure all hotel property is in working order. Report missing articles, damage, or mechanical problems to management, as necessary.
  • Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Turn in and log all guest property left in room or other public space.
  • Assist with pre-shift meetings to learn assignments and the day's tasks.
  • Ensure all rooms/assigned tasked are completed with the allotted MPR's; provide coaching and counseling on this, as necessary.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • General knowledge of equipment such as vacuums, commercial washers and dryers. Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop the housekeeping team, including supervisors and line staff.
  • Create schedules, manage labor efficiently, and ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and engagement.
  • Address employee relations matters professionally, including coaching, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for housekeeping staff.
  • Operations & Quality Control
  • Ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet brand, hotel, and cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas; follow up on deficiencies promptly.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Front Office to address room status, PMs, work orders, and out-of-order rooms.
  • Ensure completion of daily checklists, deep cleans, PMs, and departmental routines through systems such as Quore.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and ensure team compliance. Guest Experience & Service Recovery
  • Demonstrate genuine care for guests and employees while modeling service excellence.
  • Respond to guest concerns and complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
  • Utilize service recovery tools and guidelines to resolve guest issues and support improved guest satisfaction scores. Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
  • Monitor departmental expenses, inventory, and supplies; place orders and control costs.
  • Track productivity, labor, and quality metrics; take corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation using hotel systems and computers. Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with hotel leadership, department heads, and team members.
  • Lead department meetings and daily stand-ups to reinforce priorities, expectations, and a sense of urgency.
  • Collaborate cross-functional to support hotel operations, occupancy needs, and special projects. Required Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language ; additional languages are a plus in a multicultural work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks .
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to use tact, professionalism, and emotional intelligence when handling employee and guest issues.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to access, input, and manage information.
  • Ability to create and maintain a sense of urgency around cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.

Previous hospitality housekeeping experience preferred.

GENERAL NOTES
  • Housekeeping Supervisors will be required to work varying schedules as dictated by the business needs of the hotel. This includes attendance at all scheduled brand and job specific training sessions and meetings. May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent attendance in accordance to the standards set forth by Converge Hospitality must be maintained and is an essential element of the success in this role.
