Hotel Housekeeping supervisor bm.smr hotel Lakeland, FL Job Details Full-time $16 - $18 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Bilingual Teamwork Attention to detail Organizational skills Leadership Full Job Description About the Position We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our hotel team. This is a hands-on supervisory position . The Housekeeping Supervisor will work alongside the housekeeping team cleaning guest rooms, inspecting completed rooms, maintaining cleanliness standards, managing inventory, and learning and assisting with our in-house laundry operation . The Housekeeping Supervisor will also work closely with the Front Desk, Maintenance Department, and General Manager to ensure rooms are ready for guests, maintenance issues are communicated promptly, and hotel projects are completed efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who leads by example, stays organized, communicates well, and is willing to step in wherever needed to keep the hotel operating smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Work alongside housekeeping staff to clean guest rooms and hotel areas as needed. Make beds, clean bathrooms, vacuum, dust, mop, remove trash, and complete all required room-cleaning duties. Ensure rooms are cleaned according to hotel standards and procedures. Work alongside housekeeping team Lead by example by maintaining a strong work ethic and professional attitude. Room Inspections & Quality Control Inspect completed guest rooms before they are released for sale. Ensure rooms meet the hotel's cleanliness, presentation, and quality standards. Identify areas requiring additional cleaning or attention and communicate corrections to housekeeping staff. Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety concerns discovered during room inspections. Communicate room status and readiness with the Front Desk. Communication & Department Coordination Maintain consistent communication with the Front Desk regarding room status, clean rooms, out-of-order rooms, guest requests, and special cleaning needs. Communicate with the Maintenance Department regarding maintenance issues discovered in guest rooms and common areas. Follow up on reported maintenance issues to help ensure rooms are repaired and ready for guests. Coordinate with other departments when housekeeping needs affect guest rooms or hotel operations. Communicate important housekeeping updates, staffing concerns, supply needs, and operational issues to the General Manager. Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with all hotel departments.
Team Supervision responsibilities:
Assign daily cleaning duties and rooms to housekeeping staff. Monitor staff performance and ensure assigned work is completed properly and on time. Train new housekeeping employees on proper cleaning procedures and hotel standards. Provide guidance and support to housekeeping staff throughout the day. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive team environment. Assist management with scheduling, attendance, and performance concerns when needed. Inventory & Supplies Maintain accurate inventory of housekeeping and cleaning supplies. Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering needs to management. Organize and maintain housekeeping supply areas. Keep track of linens, towels, cleaning products, guest amenities, and other housekeeping materials. Help prevent unnecessary waste and ensure supplies are used appropriately. Monitor linen levels and communicate shortages or replacement needs. In-House Laundry Learn and become proficient in the hotel's in-house laundry operation . Assist with washing, drying, folding, and organizing hotel linens and towels. Ensure laundry is properly cleaned, dried, folded, and stored according to hotel standards. Monitor laundry supplies and linen inventory. Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laundry area. Assist with laundry duties when needed to ensure the hotel has an adequate supply of clean linens. Follow proper safety and operating procedures when using laundry equipment. General Manager Projects & Hotel Operations Assist the General Manager with special projects and assignments as needed. Take an active role in hotel improvement projects, deep-cleaning projects, organization, and seasonal tasks. Help coordinate and complete projects within established timelines. Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities when operational needs arise. Support management in maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and condition of the property. Qualifications Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus. Must be willing and able to clean guest rooms alongside the housekeeping team . Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards. Reliable, dependable, and willing to take responsibility. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, guests, Front Desk, Maintenance, and other departments. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Willingness to learn all aspects of the hotel's housekeeping and laundry operations. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push/pull housekeeping carts, and lift up to [XX] pounds. What We're Looking For The right person for this position is someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and lead by example . Our Housekeeping Supervisor needs to be comfortable cleaning rooms, inspecting the team's work, managing supplies, helping with laundry, communicating with Front Desk and Maintenance, and assisting the General Manager with projects and other hotel needs. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, hardworking, communicative, and takes pride in doing the job right . This position requires someone who can balance leadership with hands-on work and understands that a successful hotel operation depends on teamwork and communication between every department. Bilingual is a plus.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
