(71875) Hot Job Booker T Washington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation - SHREVEPORT, LA 71106 Apply Overview Job Shift Day Apply Description The Laundry/Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments to ensure a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supervises housekeeping and laundry personnel, ensures compliance with facility policies and state regulations, and maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate housekeeping and laundry staff. Assign daily work duties and monitor employee performance. Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained for all shifts. Conduct orientation and ongoing training for department employees. Address employee concerns and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary. Participate in hiring and onboarding new employees. Housekeeping Responsibilities Ensure resident rooms, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and other facility areas are cleaned and maintained according to facility standards. Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and sanitation requirements are met. Monitor infection control practices and ensure compliance with established procedures. Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and submit orders as needed. Laundry Responsibilities Oversee collection, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of resident and facility linens. Ensure resident personal clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident. Monitor laundry operations for efficiency and quality. Maintain adequate inventories of linens and laundry supplies. Ensure laundry equipment is properly maintained and report repair needs promptly. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of infection control, sanitation practices, and safety regulations. Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to push and pull laundry carts and housekeeping equipment. Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments. Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with cleaning and laundry duties. Working Conditions Exposure to cleaning chemicals, detergents, and soiled linens. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and during emergencies. Must follow all facility safety and infection control procedures. Share job details to
