In this highly visible role, you will report directly to the Nursing Home Administrator. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and services of the Maintenance and Housekeeping Services Department. The Manager will ensure departmental operations are performed in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, Community policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator. Requires knowledge and ability to obtain all required (environmental services related) licenses for NYC Nursing Home. Advances the value that the resident comes first. The Manager values the Community as the residents' home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care. Education, Experience and/orTraining:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree desired. 2-4 years management experience. Building maintenance experience. Comprehensive knowledge of City, State and Federal regulations pertaining to licensed skilled nursing facilities. Fire safety, OSHA standards. HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical experience preferred. The Environmental Services manager will be responsible for, but not limited to: Ensure the Life Safety of all residents, visitors, and employees within the facility. Troubleshoot and Repair different systems within the facility. Ensure State Required Inspections are in compliance with State and Federal codes. Work with Administrator on improvements of facility, and supervise the work of planned construction projects. Ensure the facility presents a welcoming, home-like appearance for all residents, staff and visitors. Work with other Department Heads of facility to constantly improve inner workings of facility. Maintain building free of hazards and performs repairs on various systems; electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling Maintain fire alarm and emergency generator systems to minimize the potential for fire and accidents Provides overall supervision of the Environmental department(s); including orientation for staff Maintains required records and reports along with budget planning Remains on-call for emergencies Coordinate fire and emergency procedure drills according to regulatory requirements Coordinate the work and assist with obtaining, maintaining, and updating of contracted services related to building, grounds, and equipment maintenance Ensure emergency power systems, life safety systems, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical systems, security systems, resident call systems, and other building related systems are functional and maintainedPhysical or Mental Demands:
This position is classified as Heavy Work for physical exertion requirements. Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Benefits
