A Housekeeping or Environmental Services Supervisor supervises the staff that provide cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in office buildings, colleges, other institutions or private residences with a large housekeeping staff.
Overview The Housekeeping Senior Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations; supervising, training, assigning, and inspecting housekeeping staff and accommodations; and upholding the highest quality standards of the Housekeeping Department. The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure accommodations are cleaned and ready for arriving guests Assign housekeeping staff and teams to units, public areas, laundry, and other housekeeping duties Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staff coverage based on season and business needs. Monitor staffing levels, workload, productivity, and completion of assigned work Supervise, coach, and provide direction to housekeeping employees Maintain and enforce housekeeping cleanliness and quality standards Conduct inspections of completed units and public areas to ensure they meet Fox Hills standards Identify cleaning, maintenance, supply, or room-condition issues and ensure they are addressed Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and retraining of housekeeping employees as needed Ensure new employees receive appropriate hands-on training before working independently Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and adherence to housekeeping procedures Conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews with direct reports; and address performance concerns, provide appropriate coaching and corrective instruction Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication among housekeeping staff Coordinate with Guest Services, Reservations, Maintenance, and management regarding room status, guest requests, and operational concerns Monitor and order housekeeping supplies, linens, towels, cleaning products, and equipment Assist with inventory control and maintaining organized housekeeping storage areas Ensure public areas and guest laundry areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards Assist housekeeping staff with cleaning duties when necessary to meet operational needs Monitor and address recurring cleanliness or productivity issues Ensure employees follow proper safety procedures and safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment Assist with developing and improving housekeeping procedures, checklists, and training materials Maintain appropriate housekeeping records, including training, inspections, and other documentation as required Provide regular updates to management regarding staffing, productivity, quality, supplies, and other departmental concerns Perform other housekeeping duties and special projects as assigned

General Manager Guest & Owner Relations:
Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous presence while working in guest-facing areas Respond professionally to guest and owner questions or housekeeping-related concerns Address guest concerns promptly and appropriately Work with Guest Services and other departments to resolve guest issues Ensure accommodations are clean, comfortable, and ready for guests Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times Promote a positive and professional image of Fox Hills when interacting with guests and owners
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience required Previous housekeeping, hospitality, hotel, resort, condominium, vacation rental, or custodial supervisory experience preferred Strong leadership and employee management skills Ability to train, coach, and hold employees accountable Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to make sound decisions and resolve day-to-day operational issues Strong work ethic, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail Ability to work weekends, holidays, and during peak occupancy periods as required Ability to perform housekeeping duties when necessary, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and other physical activities Ability to safely use or learn to use housekeeping equipment and cleaning products Join us as a Housekeeping Senior Supervisor to lead a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction!
