District Director Position Overview:
MPCS, recognized for its forward-thinking and progressive culture, seeks a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly school environment for students, staff, and visitors. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for executing daily cleaning operations, supporting facility needs, and ensuring overall campus readiness while meeting established schedules.
Essential Functions:
Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain various floor surfaces. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners daily. Clean windows, doors, furniture, whiteboards, and high-touch surfaces. Restock restroom and cleaning supplies across campus facilities. Complete assigned cleaning duties efficiently according to the daily schedule. Report maintenance concerns, damages, safety hazards, or supply needs immediately to supervisors. Properly use, mix, label, and store cleaning chemicals and operating equipment. Assist with school events, room setups, moving furniture, and special cleaning assignments as needed. Follow all school safety, security, emergency response, and custodial procedures. Performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, materials, chemicals, and equipment Knowledge of basic workplace safety procedures and sanitation standards Ability to read, understand, and follow both oral and written instructions independently Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and operate custodial machinery (e.g., vacuums, buffers) Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain extreme attention to detail regarding cleanliness and safety Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform duties (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, staff, and visitors Ability to work dependably, punctually, and professionally with minimal direct supervision.
