Campus Steward Part-Time | Non-Exempt, Salaried | 8am-4pm, Tuesday-Thursday SOCHH is looking for a dependable, caring, and proactive Campus Steward to become a consistent part of our SOCHH community. The Campus Steward helps keep our campus running smoothly each day and works alongside teachers, staff, students, and families. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being around children, likes staying active, and takes pride in creating a clean, organized, welcoming environment. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, pays attention to their surroundings, and can recognize when something needs attention without always needing to be asked. Several shifts are available. We are open to starting the right person with a smaller schedule, potentially beginning with one morning shift per week, and evaluating the role from there. For the right person, this position could potentially grow into a larger and more consistent role over time. What You'll DoCampus Care & Readiness Help prepare the campus before students and teachers arrive. Keep classrooms, common areas, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces clean, organized, and ready for use. Help keep tables, furniture, play areas, and shared spaces looking cared for. Pick up trash, clean up spills, and help reset spaces throughout the day. Check that bathrooms, printers, and commonly used supplies are ready for the day. Help create a campus environment that feels welcoming and well cared for. Student Support & Supervision Welcome students and families as they arrive. Help students transition into their classrooms and daily routines. Supervise and engage with students during recess, lunch, transitions, and other activities. Get to know students across grade levels and build positive relationships with them. Play games, talk with students, and help students feel included. Help students with everyday needs and communicate concerns to teachers or directors when appropriate. Help maintain a safe and positive environment for students. Teacher & Classroom Support Make copies and help prepare classroom materials. Cut, laminate, sort, organize, or assemble materials for teachers. Help teachers find and maintain supplies. Assist with classroom projects, activities, events, and transitions. Help reset classrooms and activity areas after use. Step in when an extra adult is helpful. Organization & Supplies Keep commonly used classroom supplies stocked and organized. Monitor bathroom, office, cleaning, and classroom supplies and communicate when something needs to be replenished. Receive and put away deliveries. Help keep supply closets, storage areas, and shared spaces organized. Make sure bikes, balls, toys, games, and other equipment are returned to their proper places. Help create simple organizational systems that make things easier for teachers and students. Campus Maintenance & Safety Keep an eye on the condition of the campus, furniture, playground equipment, gates, doors, bathrooms, and other shared spaces. Let the appropriate person know when something needs repair, replacement, or attention. Help address minor issues when appropriate. Take unsafe equipment or items out of use when necessary. Help keep walkways, emergency pathways, and student areas clear and safe. Follow up on maintenance needs to help make sure they don't get overlooked. Events & Special Activities Help set up tables, chairs, supplies, and activity areas. Assist teachers and staff with special projects, presentations, and events. Help with cleanup and return the campus to its normal setup afterward. Opening & Closing Help open and prepare the campus in the morning. Make sure classrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces are ready for the day. Help reset the campus at the end of the day. Return equipment and supplies to their proper places. Check that shared spaces are clean and orderly. Help close and secure appropriate areas before leaving.
