What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
POSITION TITLE

Area Supervisor Summary :
To perform assigned cleaning tasks as scheduled promptly, efficiently and cheerfully. Inspect assigned accounts for quality cleaning, coach janitors accordingly, complete above and beyond cleaning tasks, and cover accounts as needed. Supervise assigned janitors and building while they are accomplishing their duties If needed, coach janitors' good or poor performance on the spot. Consult with the Supervisor and if needed document performance on the Corrective Discipline Form. Inspect buildings as directed by the manager and ensure all tasks are done and building meets standards Ensure janitors have needed supplies at all times Clean buildings as assigned by the manager if a janitor is absent Other tasks assigned by the manager Inspect each assigned account once per week and fill out inspection report Deliver supplies on time to janitors if directed Cooperate with the managers and complete all tasks as assigned in a timely fashion Ensure building time standards are adhered to by the janitorsRESPONSIBILITIES
:- Clean each building according to the Task Schedule
- Clean within timeframe assigned checking in and out of building using designated phone.
- Perform any project work that is assigned
- Drive in a responsible manner and obey all traffic regulations
- Wear proper uniform and identification at all times.
- Keep the janitor's closet clean and stocked with supplies for two weeks
- Keep equipment clean and report any problems with equipment to supervisor
- Check the Communications Log/Express Time Messages nightly
- Be polite and considerate to the customers and people in the building, as well as fellow employees
- Be security minded and responsible for security while working alone locking doors behind you.
- Be responsible for, and secure, all keys assigned to you
- Be able to lift 50 pounds 25% of the working time
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Abide by the rules in the Employee Handbook
- Do not use personal cell phone during work unless on break or there is an emergency.
- Report any damage to building or it's contents immediately
- Report any found valuables
- You must never take anything from the account even if it is in the trash.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
:- Complete all training to the satisfactory of the Supervisor and Operations Manager.
- Meet all safety requirements including wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
- Be on time for work.
- Call the office by 10:00am of any day when you are sick and can't work
- Must receive a passing score on all inspections.
- Call in to time keeping system in the required manner or complete time card accurately and completely and turn in on time.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Continued- Work completed in budgeted amount of time. If exceeding time budget report to supervisor immediately.
- Janitor's closet is always neat and organized.
- All Supervisor/Customer requests are taken care of each night.
- Uniform is always clean and neat.
- No smoking in building or while working except when on breaks outside the building.
- Not under the influence of intoxicating substances while at work.
- When working in building all doors are locked, alarms are set when applicable, and no one is admitted to building
- Lost or damaged keys are reported to Supervisor.
