Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cleaner Janitorial Worker to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various commercial or institutional settings. Your proactive approach to cleaning and sanitation will ensure that all areas meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle and safely apply chemical agents for cleaning, sanitation, and stain removal following chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely by employing proper lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment. Maintain and operate various custodial tools and cleaning equipment efficiently to ensure optimal results. Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs or painting as needed to uphold the environment's quality. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety protocol adherence. Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude when interacting with staff or visitors. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and industrial cleaning tools. Basic understanding of facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or residential painting is a plus.
