Operating from our state-of-the-art riverfront facility, we represent industry-leading brands such as Can-Am Off-Road, Can-Am Spyder, Sea-Doo, Polaris Off-Road, Polaris Slingshot, Yamaha (including dirt bikes, street bikes, scooters, ATVs, UTVs, and watercraft). Our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction drives our continued growth and success. Position Overview The Lot Porter / Yard Associate is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, organization, and efficiency of the dealership lot, showroom, service yard, and storage areas. This position supports the Sales, Service, and Parts departments by safely moving units, preparing inventory, maintaining facility cleanliness, and ensuring customers have a positive first impression of the dealership. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInventory & Unit Handling- Move motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft, trailers, and other inventory throughout the dealership.
- Load and unload units from delivery trucks using forklifts and other approved equipment.
- Stage units for customer delivery, service appointments, and showroom displays.
- Assist with inventory organization and storage.
- Perform battery maintenance and basic unit preparation as directed. Lot & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dealership appearance.
- Keep display areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and customer walkways free of debris.
- Wash dealership inventory as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins.
- Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including pressure washing, sweeping, and light landscaping. Customer Support
- Greet customers professionally when assistance is needed.
- Assist customers with loading purchases when requested.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming customer environment.
- Escort customers to the appropriate department when necessary. Service Department Support
- Transport units between the service department and storage areas.
- Assist technicians by moving units in and out of service bays.
- Help maintain an organized service yard.
- Dispose of packaging materials and maintain shop cleanliness. Safety & Equipment
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and according to dealership policy.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all OSHA and dealership safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment. Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and climb as necessary.
- Safely maneuver large recreational vehicles and trailers. Performance Expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dealership appearance.
- Move inventory safely without damage.
- Support all dealership departments efficiently.
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
- Contribute to an outstanding customer experience through attention to detail and teamwork. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Forklift experience or ability to become certified.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, trailers, and personal watercraft safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude with strong teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Valid motorcycle endorsement (Motorcycle License)
- State Boater Safety Education Card / Boating License
- Current forklift certification
- Previous mechanical or powersports service experience
- Experience operating trailers and towing recreational vehicles
- Experience working in a powersports, marine, automotive, or RV dealership
- Basic knowledge of motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft, and trailers
- Strong customer service and communication skills Work Environment This position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
