Job Description
Maintenance / JanitorPosition Summary The Maintenance / Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and professional facility, both inside and out. This position performs routine janitorial duties, light building maintenance, and exterior groundskeeping to ensure the company's offices, manufacturing areas, and property are well-maintained and presentable at all times. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean offices, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, warehouse, and production areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize all assigned areas. Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly. Restock restroom, conference room and break room supplies. Clean windows, glass, doors, and other surfaces as needed. Maintain exterior areas, including sidewalks, entrances, parking lots, loading areas, and dumpster enclosures. Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including: Mowing lawns and maintaining grassy areas. Trimming shrubs, hedges, and trees. Edging sidewalks, curbs, and landscaped areas. Weeding flower beds and landscaped areas. Removing leaves, branches, and other yard debris. Picking up litter and trash throughout the property. Keeping entrances, walkways, and parking areas clean and free of debris. Perform minor building repairs, including changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, tightening hardware, basic painting, and other general maintenance tasks. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards. Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs within skill level. Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings or company events. Operate floor scrubbers, pressure washers, lawn equipment, and other cleaning and maintenance tools safely. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, landscaping materials, and maintenance equipment. Follow all OSHA and company safety policies. Report major repair needs or unsafe conditions to management. Assist with special cleaning projects, facility improvements, and seasonal maintenance as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous janitorial, custodial, groundskeeping, or facility maintenance experience preferred. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, lawn equipment, and hand tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, standing, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Preferred Skills Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. Experience operating commercial lawn equipment. Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment. Ability to prioritize work independently and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
