A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The Cleaner provides the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area. Warehouse environment, Full time (M-F) and weekend shift available, composite toe shoe required, weekly pay. Starting pay $16.50.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No experience required and on the job training provided
  • No high school diploma, GED or college degree required Clean and maintain buildings/facilities, including both inside and outside areas Perform sweeping and mopping of floors in assigned areas Work in inclement weather as required for outdoor cleaning tasks (rain, heat, cold, etc.
) Work weekends and holidays as scheduled or required Adapt to a 24/7 operation where schedules may change based on business needs Flexible shifts may be available depending on site needs Work safely around cleaning chemicals , following all labels, instructions, and safety data sheets (SDS) Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures Clean machinery with proper training and authorized equipment use Notify Manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co‑workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, pallets , and equipment to clean areas—either manually or by using hand trucks or pallet jacks Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners Wash and replace blinds Gather and empty trash from indoor and outdoor receptacles Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks as part of outdoor cleaning Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas Service, clean, and supply restrooms Clean and maintain break rooms , including wiping surfaces, cleaning appliances, emptying trash, and restocking supplies as needed A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
