Job Summary:
The Janitor/Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. This role performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a high standard of cleanliness for employees, clients, and visitors. This role ensures the cleanliness of facilities/assigned work areas, quality (appearance and regarded standards), and assists in the safety and production of work.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitation Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces Facility Upkeep Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, damages, safety hazards) Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs) Set up and break down rooms for meetings or events as needed Safety & Compliance Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Maintain awareness of workplace safety hazards and report incidents Equipment Handling Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers Maintain and properly store tools and equipment

Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required) 1+ years of janitorial or custodial experience is a plus Ability to work independently and follow instructions Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods and may lift up to 50 pounds
