BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, performs a variety of maintenance functions including, but not limited to, floor care, minor repairs and other work of a semi-skilled nature.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reliable, prompt attendance. Responsible for cleaning assigned areas which include floor care, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, straightening, emptying garbage, sanitizing, etc. Responsible for floor and carpet cleaning and maintenance, furniture cleaning and maintenance, utilizing supplies and equipment in skillful, efficient manner. Replaces light bulbs, clean vents, fills towel and tissue dispensers, etc. Performs a variety of tasks as assigned which may require the manual use of tools. Keeps facility walkways in safe, useful condition, plowing, shoveling, and applying de-icers as needed. Helps load/unload furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed. Assists in special maintenance projects as assigned by supervisor. Organizes and correctly utilizes all cleaning and maintenance supplies. Monitors product and equipment use. Reports inventory and any changes to supervisor. Maintains work area in clean, orderly fashion. Functions in cooperative, courteous manner with other departments at all times; all concerns are to be brought to the attention of the supervisor. Responds to staffing re-adjustments and adapts to varying assignments. Will be on weekend/after hours coverage as needed and/or assigned. Performs other duties as assigned or directed. Handles seasonal needs in grounds care and maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding and watering if required. Can operate, clean, and assist in maintenance of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum age of 18 years old. Minimum of six months housekeeping/light maintenance experience. Valid driver's license/good driving record when specified. No weight restrictions.
