Duties Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces. Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and restocking supplies to ensure all areas are tidy and well-maintained. Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs, painting walls or fixtures as needed, and assisting with general maintenance tasks. Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Support industrial cleaning projects when required, including deep cleans or special sanitation procedures. Assist with porter duties such as moving furniture or equipment during events or renovations to support school operations. Set up lunch room area and take down and clean daily. A boilers license is needed to maintain school boilers. Experience Proven janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or educational setting. Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care (buffing, waxing) and industrial cleaning methods. Experience with residential painting or basic facilities maintenance is a plus. Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders when necessary. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
