Summary/Objective The Paint Prep Cleaner position is responsible for cleaning and preparing parts for paint / powder coating process on the paint line. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Cleaning and preparing parts for painting including plugging and masking parts to be painted. Grind parts to remove sharp edges. Use overhead crane to move parts to wash area. Remove slag from workpieces in raw stock stage before painting. Forklift operation or willing and able to be trained to safely operate a forklift Must identify, store, stack, organize and stage product. Sweeping, cleaning, removal of trash, and scrap. Preventative maintenance as required. Competencies Reading, writing and basic mathematics. Safety conscious. Initiative. Teamwork orientation. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience Two (2) years of manufacturing experience. Crane and forklift experience is preferred. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift- 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 2nd shift- 3:30 p.m. to midnight., 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
