Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely, adhering to all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct custodial tasks including trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Maintain and operate cleaning equipment efficiently while following safety protocol adherence to prevent injury or damage. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution. Support industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks as needed to ensure comprehensive facility upkeep. Practice safe manual handling techniques during heavy lifting or moving of supplies and equipment to prevent injuries. Requirements Proven janitorial experience or custodial background with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices. Familiarity with cleaning tools and equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and chemical sprayers. Ability to handle chemical agents safely in compliance with safety protocols and handling safety procedures. Strong manual handling skills with experience in heavy lifting and safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Basic understanding of facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning processes is preferred.
