A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The following summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed. The statement below is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. 1. Police outside grounds for trash. Clean tables. Empty trash cans and ash urns by smoking areas 2. Sweep down cobwebs at all building entrances. 3. Sweep all building entrances and patios. 4. Spot clean inside and outside of all glass doors. 5. Remove gum outside entrances with scraper. 6. Keep flower beds clear of all trash 7. Spot clean interior walls to remove obvious smudges and stains. 8. Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed. 9. Spot vacuum and spot mop floors and carpets as needed. Pick up debris from plants and planters. 10. Clean water fountains twice per day. 11. Wipe down inside and outside of windowsills as needed. 12. Prepare conference rooms before and after important meetings. 13. Keep kitchen and breakroom areas cleaned 14. Clean and maintain Custodial closets. Keep neat and remove trash. Restrooms 1. Complete restroom service daily; Restock paper supplies and empty trash as needed. Sanitize commodes, urinals and sinks. Spot clean mirrors. Sweep floors and pick up debris. Spot mop floors as needed. Day Porter (Day Shift) - 8AM - 4:30PM with 1 hour break
