A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District is accepting applications for a full-time, second shift custodian for the Conant Middle High School campus. The custodian work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 02:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M during the school year and typically 7:00 am to 3:00 pm during the summer months. The custodian position generally works at the Conant Middle High School campus, although occasional assignments at other district campuses may occur. This position is eligible for benefits. Pay is based on the Jaffrey-Rindge Support Staff Association wage schedule.

The position of custodian is responsible for the general overall cleaning and minor maintenance of all areas as assigned so as to maintain a safe and sanitary facility for students and staff. The District uses green materials to clean buildings. Custodians are trained on the use and proper handling of these materials. Position requirements include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards students, staff, and the general public.

Learn and accomplish tasks with minimum supervision.

Demonstrate the initiative to do routine cleaning and minor repairs with fine attention to detail.. Dress appropriately.

Able to be flexible and address unexpected custodial requests at a moment's notice.

Ability to send/receive emails.

Ability to receive/complete/enter work orders, and check calendar via Master Library.
