Job Purpose or Objective:
The Deep Clean Technician cleans that goes beyond the normal daily cleaning operations of the EVS staff. The Deep Clean Technician shift will vary due to times with fewer guests and associates so they can complete deep cleaning responsibilities in high traffic areas. You will report to the EVS Shift Manager.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will operate and maintain cleaning equipment; Floor scrubbers, shampooers, sweepers, buffers, steam cleaners, escalator cleaners and lifts. 2. Follow approved cleaning practices with proper chemicals within SDS guidelines. 3. Remove dust and cobwebs from vents, ceiling tiles, signs, ledges, fixtures, windows, wall hangings and light fixtures. This often involves working overhead and operating a scissor lift to access inaccessible areas, usually at heights of 40+ feet. 4. Clean and remove stains from fabric or carpet; shampoo, sweep, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and buffing machines. 5. You will be deep cleaning windows, doors, walls, ceilings, closets and fixtures in offices, restrooms, breakrooms, public areas, back of house, stairways and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard to reach areas, to maintain a c clean, presentable and attractive facility always. 6. Cleaning and polishing of metalwork / stainless steel such as fixtures, fittings and elevators. 7. Answer or direct customer or public inquiries to the appropriate department when necessary. 8. Expected to take initiative to immediately clean or correct problem areas. 9. Reports emergencies and maintenance needs to supervisor. 10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Work nights and weekends. Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Knowledge of cleaning machines and tools, including their designs, uses, basic maintenance General knowledge of cleaning requirements in the hospitality industry.
