A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
School CustodianWe are seeking a dependable School Custodian to support the daily cleanliness and upkeep of educational facilities. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering consistent full-time hours and the potential for long-term employment.
Pay & ScheduleStarting pay: $15.00/hourAfter 520 hours while awaiting conversion: $17.00/hourSchool-year schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PMSummer schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM30-minute paid lunchOvertime is generally not availableJob ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned spacesSweep, mop, vacuum, and perform routine janitorial dutiesMaintain consistent cleaning quality throughout assigned areasUse standard custodial equipment and cleaning suppliesComplete repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detailWork independently and stay on task with limited supervisionAssist with routine upkeep of school grounds as assignedHelp clean or clear sidewalks and entry areas during winter weatherFollow established safety, security, and workplace proceduresReport to the designated maintenance area at the beginning of each shift for the team meetingWhat We're Looking ForDependable attendance and punctualityStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and follow directionConsistent and thorough approach to cleaningAdaptability and willingness to be coachedAbility to perform physically active custodial workComfortable working an evening schedule during the school yearAbility to maintain a professional, productive approach in a team environmentPrevious custodial or janitorial experience was not identified as a requirement, making this an entry-level opportunity for candidates who can demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.

Temp-to-Hire OpportunityEmployees become eligible for conversion consideration after 520 hours. Conversion is subject to organizational approval and available budget and typically takes approximately 4-6 months. After full-time conversion, employees become eligible for State of Oklahoma benefits.
